Strife Dishonesty and Conflict at Beach

Elissa Jarvis, Lead Reporter Thursday, September 01, 2011

Scott Pyle Myrtle Beach

Scott Pyle
Former Beach Church Point Team Leader

UPDATE:  COURT RULES AGAINST SCOTT PYLE

As we have looked into the issues surrounding the Beach Church conflict that lead to the firing of a much loved head pastor and an entire Church split,  we asked current church members and those who have since left to give us their input.

Sadly,  as Tammy and her team began inquiries some unfortunate acts occurred.  In a span of  two weeks,  Tammy's car tire was first slashed in front of our office and then,  two weeks later,  her car was egged in front of our office.  The repairman at Cars and More who inspected the tire said, "This slashing was not done at random.  From the knife mark,  I can see that this was done intentionally to make a statement."  Tammy's private cell number was also handed out and she began receiving anonymous harrassing phone calls asking her to stop reporting this story.   A total of 10 phone calls were made anonymously.  After these incidents occurred,  Tammy did ask, for the peace of her family, to be re-assigned and she is no longer covering this story.

Below are just a few of the over 87 comments we received from area business leaders, current church members and former members of Beach Church.   As some of these people do not wish to be contacted by the staff at Beach Church, they have asked that their last names be withheld.   We believe this sample best reflects the mood of the overall sample that we gathered. *Editor's note:  We received no positive comments concerning Craig Cheney, Damon Adcock, Scott Pyle or the process that involved Dan's dismissal.  We attempted to get input from Craig Cheney and Soulo Sport but our numerous calls were never returned.  While it is not our desire to present a one sided story,  we can only report the comments we received.  We continue to invite dialogue here.

Unfortunately I don't know what happened. All I know is my favorite pastor has been told to leave Beach Church. We were never told why exactly they asked him to leave. I was there when Ronny Byrd was asked to leave. Again they never said why. Now the rumors fly and we don't know what to believe! After they finally announced that Dan would not be coming back, I decided I could not be a member of Beach Church anymore.

Tammy - I have always had a feeling about Scott Pyle only to find out my feelings were true. Scott could not control Dan Grider. Scott has jealousy towards Dan as it is obvious and Scott really wanted Dan gone, so much so that the rumor ( maybe ) true that he  was willing to pay Dan's salary to get him fired. This is a group of guys willing to sacrafice an Angel for thier own personal gain, and the result is Thousands of people got a super Godly person bullied away from them. I just read your arcticle. I had heard of some sort of business, that they Pastor's were in Damon, Scott, Craig, etc....
As far as all the Pastors there now. I go and listen to Todd Elliot as he seems to be the only true Godly one @ Beach Church now. Thank you : ) PEACE

Scott Pyle has the unique way of completely separating his supposed religious convictions with his business dealings.  I found this man very dishonest in his business dealings.

Scott  (last name asked to be withheld)

Scott Pyle has single handedly destroyed more ministries than Satan himself.  The oppressive way that he conducts church ministry literally sent me into a one year depression.

Bob  (last name asked to be withheld)

Wherever these two pastors and Scott Pyle go,  strife, deceit, and conflict are sure to follow!

David  D.  (last name asked to be withheld)

When I saw this man, Scott Pyle,  on stage trying to explain the issues about firing Dan,  I told my wife,  this guy is way  too smooth.  It is so curious to me that Dan was fired just after a teaching series on the Holy Spirit.

 Debbie  (last name withheld)

It appears that every friend Scott Pyle has is a paid for friend,  including the Pastorial team at Beach Church.

From previous reports,  it is clear that the appointment of Scott Pyle did not fit the appropriate protocol for choosing a church leader.  Our previous reports also indicate that Scott was appointed in secret and that two leading pastors decided to partner with his wife in an import/export business.   These same two pastors,  Craig Cheney and Damon Adcock, along with Scott were the impetus behind Dan Grider's dismissal.

To this day,  the congregation and the community have not been given any sound reason for Dan's dismissal.  At a recent funeral of a highly decorated war veteran, who was also a leader at Beach Church,  we were made aware of a letter that he had written to Pastor Craig Cheney.  He said,  "To this day,  I can find no sound reason as to why Dan Grider was dismissed."  Like so many,  this solid community citizen moved his family to another place of worship.

Follow Up:  Once reporting began,  an anonymous source from Alabama did send our team a list of former clients of Dr. Pamela Pyle .  Mrs. Pyle 's medical license was sanctioned because of a misprison of a felony.  In short,  she sold steriods to professional atheletes through the mail.  These prescriptions were sent to professional atheletes that Mrs. Pyle never actually saw in person.   It was curious to us why a promising doctor would risk her entire medical practice for such a purpose.  We will be following up on this story soon.

9/2/11  10:43 a.m.  *When this article originally aired on September 1st,  our follow up section stated  that Mrs. Pyle's medical license was revoked.  However, because of her early plead and her co-operation with the government as it related to her pleading against other defendants,  Mrs. Pyle's  sentencing was actually to have her license sanctioned.  We have created the link above to clarify.

9/8/11   *It has been reported to our team that Dr. Pyle has written a confession on her own personal blog.  We applaud such transparency.  As we have received an account as well from an anonymous source,  we are currently in the process of comparing that testimony against other persons of interest in this federal case which involved the selling of steroids.
