Myrtle Beach Launches reality series

The Myrtle Beach City Social, in concert with it's Myrtle Beach Facebook Page announced today the initial concept development stage of two upcoming reality shows to be filmed in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

While details on the project are still under close guard, word is that Myrtle Beach will be recruiting it's fans on facebook to help create and work on the project. The Myrtle Beach Facebook page currently has approximately 400,000 fans.
A nationwide search will also be announced for star actors. Actors will be chosen from among the Myrtle Beach fan base from those actors who produce and post their own screen tests. Fourteen screen test winners will star in and appear in the series.
Once the new version of Myrtle-Beach.com is launched, aspiring fans will be allowed to post self produced video screen tests on the City Social. These screen tests will then be broadcast on the facebook page itself for fan reviews. Winners will be voted up and losers voted off the City Social post page by our fan base. The last fourteen remaining stars will ultimately be featured in the series. The selection process will work much like has been done on American Idol.
A total of 18 webisodes will be shot on location in Myrtle Beach with a total of 14 actors and actresses.
From its fan base, Myrtle-Beach.com will also be selecting videographers, script writers, writers, editors, and photographers.
"This is our most exciting project to date," said Britt El-Kheddiwi, Myrtle Beach Facebook Anchor. "The work should begin shortly after we roll out our newest version of our Myrtle Beach City Social, sometime in early September.
More details will be announced in September when the new website launches.
