A Hot Fourth of July
David Hucks Wednesday, June 22, 2011
Myrtle Beach is predicted to be hot in more ways than one this July 4th holiday season. With this week's weather producing record 100 degree days throughout the South East, forecasters are predicting above normal temperatures through the holiday period, which is only two Mondays from now.

The high temperatures are also now creating a last minute rush for reservations into our resort town. Room availability still exists, however, the last two days have seen a dramatic increase in 4th of July bookings.
With firework events scheduled all over the Myrtle Beach area for this holiday, guests coming in for the fourth will have more than enough activities to participate in and events to celebrate.
The fourth of July is the most popular travel week for Myrtle Beach as temperatures oceanfront and on the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk run from 12 to 15 degrees cooler than just one mile west and much cooler than cities within a 4 hour driving distance to the coast.
Water activities are also a big draw, as well as, a great way to stay cool during the peak of Summer's heat. Myrtle Beach is America's number two family destination preceded only by Disney World which is located in Orlando, Florida.
For more information on reserving last minute reservations for the July 4th period, either visit our accommodations page on our Myrtle Beach website or check out the official "last minute" Myrtle Beach Hotels site. The Myrtle Beach Hotels site runs one week out specials every week. It's a great place to find last minute bargains.
Hope to see you on the beach this July 4th.
