Simple Pleasures Bring Joy

Lainey Veltri, Staff Writer Wednesday, September 05, 2012

Fall is a wonderful time to enjoy, explore and embrace Myrtle Beach. There’s plenty more breathing room, elbow space and wide-open roadways to take it all in. I have always favored the Grand Strand this time of year as it downshifts to a slower pace, rousing the adventurer in me to stop, pause and savor all of what makes this place special. For me, it’s the simple things that bring me joy, laughter and solitude, and I make sure to sprinkle them abundantly throughout the fall. Strolling the beach at dusk with my toy poodle. Watching the sunset paint the sky brilliant hues while I lay back on my beach blanket. Riding the carousel at the Pavilion Nostalgia Park at Broadway at the Beach. Eating warm hushpuppies with honey butter while winding down at a beachfront bar and grill. Picnicking in the park with my two daughters. What are some of your favorite simple pleasures this time of year?
