Walks Of Life

I have a confession to make: Every time I see an elderly couple, hand-in-hand, walking the beach together, I get teary-eyed. I love the way they often lean into each other, stepping at the same pace. I rarely see them chat…they seem to communicate with just a glance that is perfectly understood. I’ve seen them pause to look across the ocean and tenderly pat one another’s arm, then start off again, smiling. There’s an indescribable sweetness about it, a quiet testament to the age of wisdom and love grown over a lifetime. I want to become that couple. And what I’ve learned from them is this: It’s never too late to grab your partner’s hand, lean in and walk along the beach.
