Wedding on the Beach

"Let's get married at the beach...where we first fell in love...."
The first time they saw each other was at Myrtle Beach, in June.
"He was with another girl!" she laughed.
"And she was with her Mom," he replied. "When I first saw her, I knew....that was the woman I wanted to marry."
After that chance meeting, he saw her again on the Grand Strand, and this time, he asked her name. After much pursuing, she finally agreed to go on a date with this mysterious man. And after that very first date he knew...one day, he'd ask that pretty girl to marry him on that very beach where he fell in love at first sight.
Dates continued as they went back to their colleges, and they visited that very same beach as often as they could, happy days full of swimming and beachcombing, and romantic walks on the Springmaid Beach Pier. Two years later, he planned it perfectly. They walked along the shore at sunset with the sky tinged pink, the ring in the pocket of his khaki shorts. She wore a turquoise sundress, and carried her sandals in her left hand as she picked up shells with her right. He walked a bit ahead of her, and bent over and hid the ring under a small white sand dollar that he had also hidden in his pocket, one that they had found the summer before...then stood up and watched her collect her favorite shells.
"Honey, did you find anything?" she asked, strolling his direction. He pretended to look over the ocean, heart beating fast with excitement and nervousness. She walked closer, and closer, and gasped..."Look, a sand dollar!"
She reached down, just as he did, one knee in the sand...and as she claimed the sand dollar and discovered her ring, he proposed. A lifetime of love, a wedding on their beach, and happily ever after.
