Will One Bike Rally Be a Disaster?

This year, both the Harley-Davidson and the Atlantic Beach Bike rally are going to be happening at the same time. Leaving many to wonder: is this a good idea?

Myrtle Beach Bike weeks have been a source of contention in Myrtle Beach for some years. There are some (tourists and locals) who view the rallies as a nuisance. The rallies are loud, noisy, create tons of traffic congestion and not very family friendly according to some people. Conversely, some people see the rallies as an added source of income for Myrtle Beach during a time when families are not vacationing in town. The biker rallies bring in hundreds of thousands of people who are staying, shopping and eating in the Grand Strand area.
The Harley Davidson rally has in the past always been the third week of May, with the Atlantic Beach rally following it the next week and into Memorial Day weekend. Earlier this year, the Harley rally opted to extend their rally until Memorial Day weekend. Then last week Atlantic Beach opted to start their rally a week earlier.
So do you think having the two rallies going on concurrently is good idea or a recipe for disaster?
