Super Bowl XLVI: Giants vs. Patriots

Elissa Jarvis, Lead Reporter Saturday, February 04, 2012

It’s the first Sunday in February tomorrow which can mean only one thing, its Super Bowl Sunday! This year’s matchup is a rematch of the 2008 Super Bowl with the New York Giants taking on the New England Patriots; two well-loved teams with ferocious fan bases sparring off against each other.

The last time they met up at the Super Bowl, the Giants pulled out a huge win in a nail-biter game with wide-receiver Plaxico Burress making the game winning touch-down catch with 35 seconds left on the clock. The teams have changed slightly in the last 3 years, but the Giants are looking to have the same success this year.

The Patriots, on the other hand are looking to prove that 2008 was a fluke. Easily considered the best team in football right now, the Patriots are going to their fifth Super Bowl in ten years. They were the number one team in the AFC this year and they still harbor the sting of losing to the Giants the last time they were in the Super Bowl.

So who do you think is going to win: Giants or Patriots?
