Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays?

Elissa Jarvis, Lead Reporter Sunday, December 25, 2011

Every holiday seasons the same argument comes up in the media: should we say merry Christmas or happy holidays? The politically correct always say that happy holidays is the way to go because it covers multiple faiths, except for those who don’t celebrate any holiday during this time of year. Most Christians argue that merry Christmas is perfectly fine as the majority of the population is Christian.

My friends, who try to avoid the argument, like saying merry chrismakwanzika. One particularly fun friend wishes people a “cherry mristmas,” and then there are people who just wish everyone a happy festivus. Personally, I don’t care what people wish me: merry Christmas, happy Hanukkah, or merry holidays. I think in the spirit of the holidays I’m happy to be wished anything.

So where do you fall: Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays?
