College Bowl Game Comes to Town!

Elissa Jarvis, Lead Reporter Tuesday, December 13, 2011

Love college football but can’t make it to a Bowl Game? Don’t worry the Collegiate Development Football League is bringing one to Myrtle Beach! The Second Annual Football Championship Subdivision Senior Scout Football game is going to be played right here in Myrtle Beach at Doug Shaw Stadium!

The Senior Scout bowl takes the best players from 124 FCS division football programs and pits them against each other in a North vs. South showdown. The FCS consists of Division 1 schools like Marshall University, Campbell University and our own Coastal Carolina. The Senior Scout Bowl is also an opportunity for professional football scouts to scout the best of division 1 football players that would otherwise not be recognized. Four players from last year’s Senior Scout bowl went on the play in the NFL.

Two of Coastal Carolina’s own will be playing for the South this year. Tight End Jamie Childress will be playing on the offense and Corner Back Marcus Lott for the defense. Also representing South Carolina will be Defensive Lineman Ronnell Ferguson of South Carolina State University. CCU’s own former football coach Dave Bennett will be coaching the South team.

The game is scheduled for Saturday December 17th at 2 pm at Doug Shaw Stadium. Tickets range from $5-15 dollars and all practices will be open to the public.  For tickets or more information please visit http://www.fcsseniorbowl.com/

So place your bets now: who's going to win North or South?
