How Hard Is It To Start a Business In America?

Small businesses are always a hot topic around elections, but how hard is it to start a business in America?
I would argue it’s very hard. Not only do you need the money for the start up costs of a business (finding a building, supplies, etc) then there is all the paperwork that has to be filed. Then you have to make sure you’re following zoning laws, legal codes, and if the business is a restaurant then there are health codes and inspections. Sure every business in America started as a new small business once, but it seems very hard for the average Joe to start their own business.
