Apple or Pumpkin Pie?

It’s the great pie debate at my house every year during Thanksgiving, which is better: Apple or Pumpkin pie?

For my money, Apple is more the traditional Thanksgiving pie. I mean the colloquialism is “as American as apple pie” not pumpkin pie. I wait all year for grandmother’s apple pie which I only get at Thanksgiving and Christmas. My stepfather and uncle would disagree; they argue that pumpkin pie is the more traditional pie. Either way, its one very tasty debate.
