Do We Pay Professional Athletes Too Much

Do we pay professional athletes too much? Do they really need 1.2 million dollars to throw/bounce/hit/catch a ball?

Listen, don’t get me wrong I love professional sports as much as the next person. I live, breathe and eat baseball during the summer, football in the fall, and hockey in winter. But during the football lockout, I wondered are we paying these athletes too much? They were squabbling over an extra hundred thousand dollars a year, when the average American is in the middle of a recession. We pay teachers, firefighters, cops and public servants pennies in comparison.
