Completely renovated in 1999, the East Course is a traditional parkland layout, carved through the pristine forest, with many scenic views, ending with a dynamic finish along the Calabash River. Dan Maples’ masterfully designed East Course, was given a notable 4 star rating in Golf Digest’s ‘Best Places to Play’ in 2008. It features crowned greens, demanding tee shots and consistent conditioning. Located just a short drive north of Myrtle Beach, the Pearl - East course is great addition to your next Myrtle Beach golf trip.

The Pearl’s fast rolling, crowned greens and finely manicured fairways are cut through the southern North Carolina forest and border the coastal marshland and Calabash River. This dramatic property has been enhanced with an array of gardens and water features that add to the difficulty and splendor of each hole. In addition to the magnificent landscaping, this course is home to a variety of wildlife, such as herons, egrets, eagles, deer, and resident gators. The terrain is quite level on the front side and there is most often ample room off the tee, although there are a few tight driving holes. There are 46 sand bunkers located near the landing zones along the tree lined fairways or situated greenside, and water hazards come into play in some shape or form on 15 of the holes, with several forced - but reasonable carries. The green complexes are small with mild slopes and undulations, and are usually well guarded by sand traps. The backside is a bit more undulating than the front, with gentle slopes and mounding along the fairways. The final two holes have natural marshes and oyster beds that are situated on the left side. The dogleg left 18th is a fine finisher, requiring a carry off the tee and a lake also in play on the approach. The East Course features 5 sets of tee boxes that play to distances and slopes measuring 6793 yards with a 134 slope, 6543 yards with a 129 slope, 6250 yards with a 122 slope, 5756 yards with a 119 slope and 5125 with a slope of 117 from the forward tees.
